“Book Reading Session” on the occasion of “Shikshak Parv 2022”

Friday, 09th September 2022.
  1. Shikshak Parv is celebrated on the 5th September to commemorate the birth anniversary of the former president of India Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. The idea behind celebration of Shikshak parv is to acknowledge the dignity of teaching profession and contribution of teachers in nurturing young minds and nation building
  2. According to themes and activities suggested by AICTE, Book Geek Club of Computer engineering department has organized book reading activity
  3. In this activity book reading of “Education in India – A Journey from Gurukul to Cyberkul” written by Shampa Chakraborty carried out
  4. Also at the end video on “Indian Knowledge Systems: An Overview by Prof. Gauri Mahulikar” was shown to student
  5. 56 students from SE (Comp) attended the session.

Summary report : As a part of Code Fiesta we have conducted chart making competition under book geek club for S.E-A students.
  • Judge invited for this event was Mr. Ajinkya Vaze, a software developer.
  • He evaluated the poster on basis of title, clarity of text and diagram, presenter’s knowledge of topic, neatness, technical approach etc.
  • 60 students have been participated in this event.
  • It was a very helpful activity for all the students.

  • With the growth of e-commerce, social networks and several other web based transaction systems, the amount of sensitive information which an average web user stores on the web is increasing rapidly. Attackers constantly find ways of stealing sensitive data of users using various techniques. Modern browsers have several features which prevent malicious attempts of attackers such as opening pop-ups, spreading malware etc.
  • Features such as Private browsing mode, Popup blockers and Domain highlighting were discussed.
  • Tips for safe browsing such as Auto update, Logging out of a website, Saving Bookmarks, Using the Remember Me feature were discussed.
  • Business intelligence (BI) is a set of tools and techniques used to derive useful information from vast amount of organizational data.
  • Data warehouse (DW) is a central repository of organizational data derived from any source and structured in a way suitable for querying, analysis and reporting using BI tools.
  • Business intelligence and data warehouse are necessity for all businesses and considerable size who aim to understand and grow their businesses.

As a part of Student Activity that was on 04/08/15, we at Computer Engineering Department organized a session on Google Projects & Computer vision in Image Processing.

  • The Computer vision is a field that includes methods for acquiring, processing, analyzing and understanding images.
  • In general, high-dimensional data from the real world is analyzed in order to produce numerical or symbolic information, in the forms of decisions.
  • A theme in the development of this field has been to duplicate the abilities of human vision by electronically perceiving and understanding an image.
  • 4. There has been a long history of computers in the field of Medicines, the medical imaging method X-RAY was discussed.
  • 5. In second part of session innovating ideas of Google Projects were discussed, Project Tango is one of them.
  • 6. roject Tango is a Smartphone and tablet project by Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects group (ATAP), formerly a division of Motorola. Project Tango prototype is an Android Smartphone-like device which tracks the 3D motion of the device and creates a 3D model of the environment around it.

  • The global network infrastructure IoT and principles of IoT such as, 1.Value 2.Data 3.Security 4.Design were discussed.
  • Six A’s of IoT includes: 1.Anything, 2.Anytime, 3.Anywhere, 4.Anyone, 5.Anyservice, 6.Anynetwork.
  • It means that whatever, whenever, wherever, whoever wants can use any service by using any network.
  • Applications of IoT were discussed.Overall, it can be said that, IoT is a long awaited trend that is causing a surge of optimism in the technical sector.

  • Sushant Deshmukh: CSI - ROLE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLGENCE IN ENHANCING THE EDUCATION. Need - Pen and paper education system had many flaws in it. To overcome them and create a more easy path between education and student R&D department created ITS( Intelligent Tutorial System). It gives us a visual for our imaginations. It reduces the time consumption. AI can also help the students from small villages and towns where there is no proper teaching faculty available.
