Objective:
  • To identify importance of safe electrical practices through Electrical Safety Audit

Summary of the Activity/Event:
Two Days “Electrical safety w awareness program” was organize in PES’s Modern College of Engineering in association with IET Pune Chapter. The Event will be conducted in two sessions by experts. The event will enhance the knowledge of electrical safety among the society and students of PES’s Modern College of Engineering. The program will highlights the tools and technology used in identify electrical hazards. The students will understand the functions of safe working electrical installations like Technical measures, preventive measures, organizational measures and competency in certification.
Outcome:
  • Understand the importance of proactive approach to prevent electrical-related injuries.
  • Promotes a vibrant electrical safety culture among society
  • Demonstrate compliance to established standards
TWO DAYS ONLINE LECTURE SERIES ON DIGITAL STRESS MANAGEMENT

  • The department of Electrical Engineering along with IET sponsored “Two days lectures series on Digital Stress management” on 30/1/2021 and 1/2/2021.

3 DAYS ONLINE WORKSHOP ON “ELECTRIC VEHICLE AND BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM”

Objective:
Conducting online workshop to keep awareness and for adoption of new online methods of learning and assessment.
Summary of the Activity/Event:
Three day online workshop was conducted titled “Electric vehicle and battery management system.” from 4th August to 6th August 2020. The chief guest of the day was Dr. Dayaram Sonawane, Chairman, Pune IET Local Network. Other dignitaries were Prof.Dr.Mrs.K.R.Joshi,Principal PES MCOE, Prof. Dr.N.R.Kulkarni, HOD Electrical Department, Dr. Anuradha Thakre , Secretary of IET Pune Local Network and Professor, PCCoE, Mr. Deepak Kshirsagar , Treasurer IET Pune Local Network. The inauguration of workshop was held on 4th August, 2020. The main focus of electric vehicle workshop was to cover basics of electric vehicle, battery management system and retrofit kit .Eminent experts from reputed Industries have conducted sessions on 3 days from 4th August 2020 to 6th August 2020. An additional session on success stories of entrepreneurs were also arranged on each days. The entire workshop also has covered various opportunities in the field of electric vehicle sector. Total candidates registered in Maharashtra are335 and out of Maharashtra are 5. The overall feedback about the workshop is also conducted. The participants were students and faculty of various reputed engineering colleges in an around Maharashtra. Lastly the ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks where all the invited guests were thanked for gracing the occasion by their solemn presence.
Outcomes: students will be able to : Understand working of electric vehicle and battery management system.
ONLINE STATE LEVEL PROJECT POSTER COMPETITION 2019-20 IN ASSOCIATION WITH IET PUNE CENTRE.

Objective:
To Design and develop poster based on completed project. To provide common platform for students of various colleges to present their implemented project ideas in the form of poster. To provide project assessment through Industry experts and motivate students for development of innovative, society useful projects in different domains of Electrical engineering. To keep awareness and for adoption of new online methods of learning and assessment.
Summary of the Activity/Event:
The Project Poster Competition 2019-20 was carried out in three different domains
  • Power System and machines
  • Electrical control system, drives and Automation
  • Renewable, EV and multidisciplinary
The assessment points shared with judges were Project Aim /Objectives, Innovative Ideas, Methodology, Block Diagram, Results and Designing idea/Skills. The Online Registration of participants was taken during 29.5.20 to 3.6.20. All participants had joined what app group has created for further communication. Expected contents in the poster were communicated through guidelines and designing flexibility was provided to the students. All posters received domain wise were distributed among six judges from reputed Industries with expert’s specialization. Evaluation was carried out and sheets are shared online with us. The results are declared as per the marks obtained. Participation certificates were mailed to all participants and winner certificates to all three winners in each domain. The first winner of each domain is also awarded with cash prize.
Outcomes: students will be able to :
  • The project poster competition was conducted successfully domain wise with use of ICT.
Total three winners are declared in each domain.
NURTURING INTELLIGENCE FOR CURIOUS ENGINEERS (NICE) UNDER IET CHAPTER

Objective:
The idea is to encourage the graduating engineers to participate in awareness to be conducted amongst the prospective engineers (Junior College Science Students).
Summary of the Activity/Event:
Nurturing Intelligence for Curious Engineers (NICE) is a competition by IET LN for 3rd & final year engineering students (Under Graduates). The idea is to encourage the graduating engineers to participate in awareness to be conducted amongst the prospective engineers (Junior College Science Students). The objective is to align the interest of students to their respective branch they select. This will motivate students to carry out research and innovation while studying for engineering, also orient their mind and gain insight into a meaningful engineering product. This endeavor would be mutually benefitting to participants and attendees of this competition and would aid in inculcating quality engineers to the society at large. Total Group Participated from various institutions was 6.Winner was awarded and proceed one step further for regional level presentation. Judges motivated students for better skill development for corporate life.
Outcomes:
  • Student’s can able to develop communication skills with proper time management.
  • Student’s get rid of stage fear by giving presentation in front of Target Audience.

Summary of the Activity/Event:
IET Student on Campus Group was established in PES’s Modern College of Engineering Electrical Department in the month of July 2019. The official inauguration was done on 20th September 2019. Dr. M. A. Joshi Chairperson of IET Pune Local network, Dr. D. N. Sonawane Secretary of IET Pune Local network, Mr. Deepak Kshirsagar Treasurer of IET Pune Local network honored us with their presence at the event. Dr. N. R. Kulkarni, Vice Principal and HOD of Electrical Department offered the invited dignitaries a warm welcome. Dr. K. R. Joshi, Principal of PES’s Modern College of Engineering endowed us with an informative speech and felicitated the honored guests. Dr. M. A. Joshi Chairperson of IET Pune Local network and Dr. D. N. Sonawane Secretary of IET Pune Local network addressed student and staff members of the student on campus group with detailed guidance about the IET and its various activities. The Chief guest Dr. M. A. Joshi summed up the event with an interrogative session with the student members on their benefits, duties and responsibilities as a member of IET. The event was successfully concluded Dr. V. V. Khatavkar, Associate Prof. Electrical Engineering Dept. by providing the invited dignitaries and student members with a vote of thanks. Total members 50 in numbers and additional students 40 in numbers were present for the inaugural function.
