e-Yantra Lab

Department has established e-Yantra lab in collaboration with IIT Bombay in year 2016. It is a project to spread education in Embedded System and Robotics by IIT Bombay, sponsored by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) through National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT).

Twintech Lab

A lab is set up in collaboration with Twintech Control Systems Pvt. Ltd, Pune to create an environment for student to generate, develop and commercialize their own/ partner company’s idea. Key features of the lab are

Two-days’ workshop for team of faculty members on ‘Robotics & Embedded Field’, organized by IIT Bombay and held at VIT College on 18,19 Jan.2016	Faculty learn basic concepts of Robotics such as: 1. Introduction to embedded C programming 2. Hands-on FIREBIRD kit.	IIT Bombay has given a FIREBIRD-V(Nex Robotics) robot kits to team under eLSI(e-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative )scheme worth Rs 81,444/- .
2.	Task Based Training(TBT) by IIT Bombay, July to September 2016	Faculty members worked on: 1.Programming of FIREBIRD 2.Interfacing of I/O devices 3.Line following Robot	e-Yantra team has successfully completed the Task Based Training(TBT) and won class ‘A’ award in whole Pune region with cash prize Rs.6000/-.
3.	TBT challenge 2016	Team has developed the “Restaurant Assistant Order Taking Robot”	Team has successfully completed TBT Challenge. Maximum time limit given was 8 minute and team has completed it in 1 minute 34 seconds.
4.	A Certification course in Robotics Embedded system under the e-Yantra lab	Students have been trained to program FIREBIRD and interface different I/O devices to it.	Total 25 students have successfully completed the course in academic year 2017-18.
5.	Induction Program of Robotics Club (12/09/2018)	FE/SE students gets motivated to work in Robotics Club for different competations	_

Two days workshop was arranged by Twintech Control Systems Pvt. Ltd. for Faculty and Technical Assistants (TA).
